The Flashlight Pal, made by QuickTrex, is essentially a flashlight holster with extends usability of any flashlight it holds. Unlike regular holsters, the Flashlight Pal enables the user to access/activate the flashlight without having to remove it from the holster itself. This is made possible by having velcro closures on both ends of the holster. This way, undoing the velcro strap at the head end of the flashlight would allow the light to shine out. Of course this wouldn't make sense if you have the holster attached to your belt either facing head-down or head-up as you would with regular holster. Exactly why the Flashlight Pal incorporates a spring loaded clip which is also capable of rotating 180°. The pivoting mechanism has stiff and secure notches which allows the holster to rotate in 30° increments. This allows all sorts of hands-free implementations. One thing to take note of is the size of the Flashlight Pal, it's designed for use with 2x AA powered lights such as the common Maglites. Some compact 2x CR123 powered lights will also fit, albeit a little snug, though 1x 18650 lights are generally too large. That's pretty much what the Flashlight Pal is about. If you've been carrying your flashlight in a regular holster, there's no reason why you shouldn't upgrade to the Flashlight Pal with is added usability and convenience. |
