Construction

First thing I have to say about the WT1, also known as the "Wrestler", is that it has one of the best made smooth reflector cups I've seen. Finishing is superb in terms of its polished surface and machined very well with no marks/bumps (Note: The black spots on the smooth reflector as seen in the gallery below is the result of reflection). The head separates into 2 pieces. Right at the front is the 3-point strike bezel. The WT1 was designed to double as a self-defense instrument, so the crenellations are quite pronounced and raised high over the lens. A GITD o-ring sits between the bezel and lens. The WT1 comes with 2 reflectors, one smooth and one textured. Swapping is simple enough, just unscrew the bezel and it drops out. The main head has an aesthetic design machined on it. Type 3 anodizing is of a medium gray color, coating is very even and smooth all over. There's also a thick rubber o-ring between the bezel and head.

The WT1 is about the same size as most 18650 or 2x CR123 powered lights. Feels comfortable and secure when held. As mentioned before, the entire light is coated in Type 3 anodizing which provides good scratch resistance. The emitter module is actually secured onto the front end of the battery tube and not in the head as is commonly seen in most lights. There are 3 rings machined just below the threads at the front. Probably helps with heat sinking of the emitter. I would think that any additional dissipation provided by these is marginal, it seems more of a design touch. The main middle section of the battery tube has 3 flat sides machined onto it which some branding printed on them. The machine cuts are well done, and the walls of the battery tube are quite thick. There are 2 rubber o-rings on either side of the battery tube which which provides good water resistance. Moving on to the tail cap, it has a hexagonal design which actually provides better grip than knurling which is usually the case on most lights. Threading is thick and smooth. There are 2 switch modules included in the package. A standard forward push button which allows for momentary activation, and a 2-stage reverse push button. Swapping out the switches can be done by using a pair of tweezers or needle-nose pliers. Both these switches feel good, they have average resistance and provide tactile feedback when clicked. Right at the end you'll find a small hole for lanyard and key ring attachments. The rubber tail cap protrudes out slightly which means that the WT1 can't tail stand.

Output

Thanks to the combination of superb reflector design and Q5 bin emitter, the WT1 is currently tops in terms of throw numbers among other lights of similar form factors. The runtime it provides is also above average, and maintains very good regulation too. The beam profile of the WT1 is a narrow spot, and color temperature is just slightly on the warm side. With the smooth reflector you get maximum throw potential with some ring artifacts. Alternatively you can swap in the textured reflector which smoothes out the beam nicely. As you can see from the runtime graph on low mode, the lights goes for quite some time on a single 18650 cell. I stopped taking readings once it reached 50% output. From the looks of it, the 18650 cell could very well run for an additional day on low mode.

Conclusion

The Good - Very well made reflector. Overall good construction and finishing gives it a durable feel. Intense spot for a light its size. Nice choice of high and low levels for flexibility.

The Bad - Nothing.

The Relative - Light has a slightly warm tint. Doesn't tail stand. Holster provided carries the light head-up.
