Construction

The ThruNite Ti is a really compact and light weight AAA powered light. It has a clean and simply design which is essentially cylindrical and generously covered in knurling. The head has a smooth bezel with an ultra-clear AR-coated glass lens, and a lightly textured aluminum reflector. Unscrewing the head shows it's brass chassis which helps with heat dissipation from the LED. The threads between the head and tube are cleanly cut and fit well together with no complaints. Knurling throughout is really nice with a texture more pronounced than that on most other similar sized light, while not being overly aggressive as to scratch other stuff when stored in pockets. The rear end has a raised lanyard attachment slot which means that the Ti will not tail stand.

Output

The ThruNite Ti is available in two variations with the difference between them being a different level of low mode. One model has a 0.04 lumens Low and 60 lumens High mode, while the other has a 2 lumens Low and 60 lumens High mode. User interface is as simple as a twist activated light can get right now. Loosen until the light switches off, then gradually tighten to get on Low mode, then further for High mode.

Beam profile is pretty much what you'd expect from a reflector this size. A medium sized hot spot which tapers softly towards the spill beam region. The tint on the review samples leans just very slightly towards the warm side, but pretty close to neutral white. In terms of performance the Ti does decently with a good balance of output while trying it's best to maintain regulated output from a single AAA battery.

Conclusion

The Good - Clean design. Straight forward user interface.

The Bad - Nothing significant.

The Relative - Clean beam profile with a generally neutral white tint. Uses a twist switch. Unable to tail stand.
